His Photos :

Africa's Birds
When I looked into this picture, I love this picture. I think it's because this photo isn't like other photos that just focusing the bird's texture, face or the wings. I think this photo has a difference way to shot. It used movement and beautiful colours. Lucas used a slow shutter speed and panning shot to shot the bird. It shows how the bird's fly in many gestures. The blur background also complete the bird to see clearly. And then what do I love from this picture is also about the birds' colours "Blue and Red colour". The contrast colours make the birds unique and interesting to take picture's of it. And it also can symbolise how the Africa has many unique and beautiful birds.

Africa's Lion
One of my favourite animal is lion. I like it because I think besides it it a wild and strong animals, it has a nice eyes that reflect it's another personalities, like emptiness. When I see this picture, I feel like the lion having a lonely time, emptiness, because all the animals afraid of it. Or maybe the lion just feel sad and from it's face I see calmness and sadness. I also like this photo because All the background and front ground blur that makes the lion becoming the focusing part.

Painted Dogs
African's most endangered carnivores as also know as Painted dog. What I like from this picture is about the details from the dogs. What the puppies doing and what are their body colour looks like. It looks like a dalmatian's dog that has spots on it's body. I think what the photographer's do is skulking when take this picture so that the dog didn't run. This photo is using warm colours to describe how hot the weather on Africa.

Leopard
Leopards are beautiful and secretive cats. Despite of being widespread, they can elusive and difficult to photograph. But Lucan can do it, I think he is a brave man that take a risk of his life for what he likes to do. When he really loves photography, he spent his time and his life into it. I feel there is a danger alarm on the leopard that maybe can attack Lucas or maybe the leopard just curious about the camera. So he came closer to see what it is. And also I like how Lucas capture the picture using wide lens camera that looks like fish eye lens that has clear details at leopard's skin and also background

Elephants
Using the silhouette of the elephants is pretty good ideas. So I think this photos was taken a few minutes after the sunsets. Because there is no more sun light and almost dark. But the gesture of the elephant that makes it interesting to take their silhouette's photo. Because all the elephants has the different size, different gestures but all of them walk in the one line, one way to reach home.

Meerkats
This photo is so cute. When I see this photo I feel how lovely they are and how cute they are. How the mother of the meerkats really loves her children. And how the children also love his mother and respect her. Meerkats is one of the animals that difficult to shot because they're so active animals. But Lucas done the good job for shooting this animals in the right moment when they show their different personalities. I like how he made focusing thing in the right part.

Antelope
Africa also known as a country that has a beautiful antelope. Antelope is like a magical animals in the film when they just stand up. But they're very different when they start to fighting. When I see this picture, I think this isn't antelope, it more looks like buffalo who fights each other. I like how Lucas take this photo that shows the movements when two of the antelope fights. Like it's really faster movement.

Week 1 (Photography & Design)

Nadine Greeff
Food, Still-life
Cape Town, South Africa

Background:
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Nadine captures stunning food photography for both local and international clients. She is largely inspired by the chiaroscuro style, using the contrast of the light and dark to guide to viewer's eye to a specific area of the image. Although the technique is often associated with oil paintings and religious figures of French aristocrats, Nadine brings the dramatic play of natural light and shadow to savoury food and fresh produce.

Nadine's Photography:

"Preparing Fresh Mussels"

"Free Range Meat Cut From Butcher"

"Festive Holiday Table With Glasses of Cranberry Kir Royale Cocktails"

"Spicy Clams in Curry Sauce"

"Meringues with Cream"

"Easter Twig and Egg Nest"

"Roasted Coffee Beans"

Reflection:
From this research I've learnt how can usual thing like food ingredients, food can make beautiful pictures using different aperture, ISO, movement, different focusing point and also different angle of photo taking. What I've learnt is this photographer like to using front view and bird's view when taking the shot. Some of the food that she use is in order but maybe she can give some particular messy ingredients around the food to add the aesthetic view. I like how she can control the situation. What I meant is how she can make the food looks fresh and new with the color tone that she used and which part that need to be focused in it. I like how she plays with dark and light color with the food. So when I see all of her artwork I become starving and attract with it. Because it looks so delicious and fresh. I also like how the focusing point really focus till the details. Like we can see the line, texture of that foods.
