Week 8 (Baby's Photographers)

Anne Geddes

Background:
After moving to Auckland, New Zealand, with Kel her husband, who launched the first commercial television network in New Zealand in 1988; Anne set up her first official studio. Anne's first ever photograph to be published was in a local New Zealand magazine. This feature on Anne and her photograph created an interest in, what was seen to be at the time, a very different style of portraiture. She captures the beauty, purity and vulnerability of children embodying her deeply held belief that each and every child must be "protected, nurtured and loved".

Reflection:
I like all of her photos because the baby so cute. I like Anne's ideas for making the baby looks like rabbit, cupcakes, bee, flowers, etc. It makes the baby looks cute, funny and adorable. I like her motto that every children need to be "protected, nurtured and loved" and how she makes the child looks like comfy. I think the difficult part from this photography is how she take shot at the right moment when the baby smile, or making a cute emotion. All her photos using soft colors which means very safe, comfy and lovely.
